How to split court fees fairly
When everyone plays the whole session, splitting the court fee is easy. When people arrive late or leave early, it isn't. Here are three common ways to share the cost, worked through on one session.

The example session
A three-hour session, 18:00 to 21:00, with courts at ฿150 per court per hour. Eight players come for the first hour, twelve for the second and ten for the third, so the group books 2, 3 and 3 courts: 8 court-hours, ฿1,200 in all.
| Hour | Players | Courts | Court cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 18:00–19:00 | 8 | 2 | ฿300 |
| 19:00–20:00 | 12 | 3 | ฿450 |
| 20:00–21:00 | 10 | 3 | ฿450 |
| Total | 8 | ฿1,200 |
Twelve people played: six for all three hours, two from 18:00 to 20:00, and four from 19:00 to 21:00.
1. Split it equally
฿1,200 shared by 12 people is ฿100 each. It is simple, but the six who played all three hours pay the same as the six who played two.
2. Split by player-hour
Add up everyone's hours: 30 player-hours. ฿1,200 ÷ 30 is ฿40 an hour, so three hours cost ฿120 and two hours ฿80. Fairer, but every hour is priced the same, although the first hour needed only two courts.
3. Split each hour between who was there
Each hour's court cost is shared by the players in that hour. The first hour: ฿300 ÷ 8 = ฿37.50 each. The second: ฿450 ÷ 12 = ฿37.50. The third: ฿450 ÷ 10 = ฿45. Everyone pays for the courts they actually played on.
| Who | Equal split | By player-hour | By hour played |
|---|---|---|---|
| All three hours (6 players) | ฿100 | ฿120 | ฿120 |
| 18:00–20:00 (2 players) | ฿100 | ฿80 | ฿75 |
| 19:00–21:00 (4 players) | ฿100 | ฿80 | ฿82.50 |
| All 12 players | ฿1,200 | ฿1,200 | ฿1,200 |
This is the method PadelTab uses. The organizer sets how long each block is: an hour, 90 minutes or two hours.
Balls and other extras
A tube of balls, a hall fee or a tip doesn't depend on who played when. PadelTab adds these as fixed extras and shares them equally between everyone who played.
A ฿360 tube of balls shared by 12 players is ฿30 each, on top of their court share.
Rounding and empty courts
Shares are worked out to the satang, and any satang left over is given to individual players, so the shares always add up to exactly the total.
If a court was booked for a block nobody signed up for, no one is charged for it: it shows as unfunded rather than being added to the other blocks.
Without the arithmetic
Players pick their hours when they sign up. You enter the court rate, the courts you booked and any extras, and PadelTab works out everyone's share. It tracks who has paid, but the money itself moves the way your group already handles it. Every new organizer gets a 30-day free trial covering one group. See how PadelTab works.
